Letter To The Voice In My Mind

Dear Vociferous Me,

I hope you are in the pink of the health. I doubt it actually, 'cause now a days u sound so different. I believe that the climate inside there, surrounding you is little nasty these days! You are turning forty, right...not me of course!

Its so frustrating now a days that you have started chirping and whispering. You seem to be lost in another world or may be that you have lost your steam all these years correcting me! But you know what... I was so used to your shouting and screaming all these years. Before I could open my mouth to voice the concern, it used to be you, who would shout from the belly button! How I wished at times that I could ask you to keep mum and let me handle the stuff... but you were like a raging bull in those days and I was not a matador!

Your mighty presence led to headaches, quite a lot of times. Even strong dose of migraine tablets couldn't tame you. I felt so destitute then!

At times I have sinned by silencing you, only to realise that it was at my own peril. And winning over you...it was like winning a wrestling championship against a Sumo! I am sorry that using umpteen methods, techniques of breathing and meditation, I have tried to silence you... what a wastage of time and money that was! Aha... and when u were happy, you wriggled whistles and bathroom singing talents out of me. Life seemed to be an endless state of bliss. Thanks for that!

But you see, I can't leave you, nor can live without you.. you are such a bitter sweet part of me. Like a nomads, we have traveled through the thick and thins of the life. Reality now has dawned on to me that it will be only you who would be at my sides till I rest in peace!

So lets enjoy each other till the last breath!

Yours in thoughts,

Wordy Silent Me.

  5. Ah! That little voice in our head is our true friend. It is usually right and guides us in the right direction. But more often than not we choose to drown its monologue.

  6. I am all smiles with your first sentence - 'finding in pink of letter'. This is the same how I started mine. I had to tell you about this first thing. I have to read rest of your letter, still. Will come back to comment again after finishing reading it :)

  9. I am here a day late. Our inner voice! It guides us, troubles us, cajoles us and often shakes us too. We can't live without it and it is not easy also to live with it. Hence, there is no point waging a battle with our inner voice, better to befriend it and listen to it. Nobody will show us the correct path as our inner voice.

  10. My dad used to say it's fine to talk to yourself, even to ask yourself questions - but you should start to worry the day you answer yourself with, "Huh??"
