It was Christmas Eve. When most people were home with their loved ones, Ronald walked alone on the bridge over the Thames. The memory of Becky haunted him.
It was exactly this very night, a few years ago, when he lost his beloved after she jumped from this very bridge. How he wished he had stopped her.... He walked on it every year after that to get over the pain.
In the distance, he saw a figure getting ready to plunge into the water. He ran as fast as he could. His outstretched hand did not betray him this time. He held tight on to her's.
A life was saved that night.....or rather two lives. Because from that day on, the nightmares that haunted him disappeared.
